The Dating Age Difference Formula

Youngest age you (older person) can date = 1/2 * your age + 7

Example of a function.

Ask 3 students for their age and the name and age of a celebrity they would date. Ask students if they've seen couples where one person looks old enough to be the other one's parent. There is a guideline for how young your romantic interest can be, I don't know how valid it is, but we'll pretend that it's valid for the sake of this example. Use the formula to see if they can date the celebrity of their choice.

At what age ranges does this formula fail?

What is the x variable (input) and what is the y variable (output)?

Write the function for x.
